How Do I Know if My Child Needs Braces?

Your child should be visiting their pediatric dentist every year or as needed for dental exams and dental x-rays. Your pediatric dentist will be able to offer early detection of any dental problems that might require orthodontic intervention. However, you should also be aware of your child’s general dental and oral health. If you notice that your child has crooked teeth, overcrowding, gaps between their teeth, issues with jaw growth or development, an overbite or underbite, or other problems, you should call us to schedule an orthodontic consultation.

How Long Does Orthodontic Treatment Take?

Every case is different, and we will do our best to estimate the length of your child’s orthodontic treatment plan after your initial consultation. Minor issues can usually be corrected in about six months. More extensive issues may take 12-36 months to correct. After your child’s braces are removed, they may need to continue treatment with a retainer or mouth guard to prevent further issues.

How Much Does Orthodontic Treatment Cost?

The cost of your child’s orthodontic treatment will depend on the extent of their issues, the treatment option you choose, and the length of their treatment. We strive to keep all dental and orthodontic care services affordable and reasonable for all families. We are an in-network provider for Delta Dental Premier Insurance, and we can submit major out of network claims for payment. If you don’t have dental insurance, we do require payment at the time of service. We may be able to work with you to create a payment plan if needed.
